Troubleshooting
Not Receiving Notifications
- Check device settings - Notifications must be allowed
- Check in-app settings - Toggle may be off
- Check battery saver - May block background activity
- Check internet - Need connectivity for push notifications
Delayed Notifications
- Poor venue WiFi can delay delivery
- Notifications should arrive within seconds normally
- Open the app to force refresh
Too Many Notifications
- Unsave teams you don't need to track
- Adjust timing (one 30-min alert vs. multiple)
- Use quiet hours during non-event times
Wrong Times in Notifications
- The schedule may have changed
- Pull to refresh in the app
- Check the event for latest times
Best Practices
Competition Day Prep
- Save all your teams the day before
- Set appropriate notification times
- Test that notifications work
- Charge your phone fully
At the Venue
- Keep CheerKeeper open or recently used
- Turn off battery saver if needed
- Don't dismiss notifications too quickly (they link to details)
Multiple Kids
If you're tracking many teams:
- Use longer notification times for earlier performances
- Shorter times as you settle into the venue
- Consider "X teams until" instead of time-based
Premium Features
Premium users get enhanced notifications:
