Finding Events

CheerKeeper makes it easy to find competitions, tournaments, and meets happening near you or anywhere.

The fastest way to find an event:

  1. Tap the search bar at the top
  2. Type the event name
  3. Results appear as you type
  4. Tap an event to open it

Search Tips​

  • Partial names work: "Spring" finds "Spring Championship 2025"
  • Fuzzy matching: "Championsip" still finds "Championship"
  • Location search: Try "Orlando" or "Texas"
  • Organization search: Search for a program/gym name

Near Me​

Find events happening in your area:

  1. Tap Near Me on the home screen
  2. Allow location access when prompted
  3. Browse events sorted by distance

Location Settings​

CheerKeeper uses your location only for finding nearby events. You can:

  • Enable/disable in device settings
  • Set a custom location
  • Enter a ZIP code instead

Browse All Events​

See every upcoming event:

  1. Tap Browse All on the home screen
  2. Scroll through the list
  3. Events are sorted by date

Filters​

Narrow down results:

  • Date range - This week, this month, custom
  • Competition type - Cheer, Dance, etc.
  • Distance - Within 25/50/100 miles

Major events appear in the Featured section on the home screen. These are hand-picked by CheerKeeper.

Event Cards​

Each event card shows:

  • Event name
  • Date(s)
  • Location (city, state)
  • Competition type badge

Tap a card to open the event.

Inside an Event​

Once you open an event, you'll see:

Event Home​

  • Event details (dates, location, address)
  • Get Directions button
  • Session overview
  • Quick stats (teams, performances)

Schedule Tab​

  • Full performance list
  • Search bar
  • Session/hall filters
  • Each performance with time and team

My Teams Tab​

  • Teams you've saved at this event
  • Quick access to their performance times
  • Notification settings per team

Multiple Events​

Going to several events? CheerKeeper handles it:

  • Recent events stay accessible
  • Saved teams work across events
  • Switch events from the home screen

Event Updates​

If an event's schedule changes:

  • You'll see a "Schedule Updated" banner
  • Pull down to refresh
  • Check My Teams for changes to saved teams

Bookmarking Events​

Save an event for quick access:

  1. Open the event
  2. Tap the bookmark icon
  3. Find it in My Events tab

Sharing Events​

Share an event with friends:

  1. Open the event
  2. Tap Share
  3. Send via Messages, email, or social media

Event Not Found?​

If you can't find an event:

  1. Check spelling
  2. Ask the organizer if it's published on CheerKeeper
  3. Check if the date has passed

Some events may not be on CheerKeeper if the organizer uses a different system.
